The new Democratic primary schedule isn't about diversity. It's about power.
The New York Times, CNN, and others are doing readers a disservice by repeating Democratic Party talking points.
Putting South Carolina at the front of next year’s Democratic Party primary schedule favors Joe Biden. That’s where he put the nail in Bernie Sanders’ 2020 campaign, with a little help from his friends.
As CNN wrote when the move was first announced, “Biden’s expression of his preferences will play a significant role in the process.”
This is about stacking the deck for Joe Biden. The party is saying it does not care about fair play and democracy. It cares about power.
It’s especially cynical to cast the move as a diversity play. Joe just doesn’t want to deal with competitive primaries.
